#PurpleThursday

Join HELP USA, NYS Office for Prevention of Domestic Violence, Go Purple, and allies everywhere!

Wear purple, hang purple lights, and make sure to tell others why purple is so important on this day! If you post a photo on social media showing off your purple, be sure to tag @helpusa and @NYSOPDV. All month long keep an eye on the night sky as NYS landmarks are illuminated in purple.

#PurpleThursday is a powerful initiative to raise awareness and combat gender-based violence. Wearing purple on this day symbolizes unity and solidarity in the fight against abuse and discrimination based on gender. Help USA believes that acknowledging and addressing gender-based violence is a crucial step toward fostering a society that values equality, respect, and safety for all individuals. By participating in #PurpleThursday and wearing this symbolic color, individuals demonstrate their commitment to supporting survivors, ending the cycle of violence, and promoting a world where everyone can live free from fear and harm. Together, we can amplify our collective voice and effect meaningful change to eradicate gender-based violence from our communities and create a better, safer world for all. Find out more about what HELP USA is doing to support survivors.
