NEW YORK, NY — HELP USA today announced two leadership appointments that strengthen the organization’s executive team as it continues a period of major operational growth across New York City.
Heidi Hamilton has joined HELP USA as General Counsel. In this role, Hamilton will lead the organization’s legal function and provide expertise and guidance across complex real estate and operational matters supporting HELP USA’s expanding portfolio of housing, shelter, and prevention programs.
Hamilton most recently served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Urban Resource Institute, where she led legal and compliance strategy for a large transitional and supportive housing organization. Previously, she held senior leadership roles at Amber Charter Schools, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Real Estate, Facilities & Legal Officer.
Samantha Conlan has been named Chief Development and Communications Officer. Conlan has been leading fundraising and marketing at HELP USA for the past four years, and this appointment reflects the scope of her responsibilities as a member of the executive team.
During that time, Conlan has introduced major new platforms—including the Art of Resilience Benefit and the Upstream Symposium—helped relaunch HELP Heroes Night, and expanded long-standing initiatives including the Toy Drive Benefit, which is celebrating its 20th year. Under her leadership, HELP USA has also secured competitive philanthropic support through the Citi Foundation’s Global Innovation Challenge and the Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts (FORE).
Dan Lehman, President and CEO of HELP USA said, “Heidi brings a wealth of experience in real estate and operations that will support our investment in growing the impact of our mission across New York City.” He added, “Samantha has been a key part of the leadership team since I joined HELP USA, and her deep expertise in nonprofit fundraising and marketing will provide focused guidance as we move into HELP USA’s next chapter.”
HELP USA continues its 40 year tradition of innovation and impact.
