At its core, homelessness is a housing issue – and solutions to homelessness begin there.
For nearly 40 years, HELP USA has built housing and delivered services centered on stability, dignity and respect. This “Housing First” approach, including trauma-informed care, harm reduction and other supports, is practical and proven. Moreover, it is for moving families and individuals experiencing housing instability and homelessness into safe, permanent housing – and ensuring they remain stably housed.
HELP USA is grounded in what works. That commitment will not change, and its impact is measurable. This past year, we helped nearly 1,400 households transition from shelter to permanent housing – with ongoing supports for those who need them. Our homelessness prevention programs help more than 95% of households served remain stably housed. Despite the challenges we face, these outcomes, along with increasing the supply of affordable housing, reflect the strength of the approaches already in place.
We echo the call from the National Alliance to End Homelessness for all organizations committed to ending homelessness and housing insecurity to remain clear-eyed and steadfast through this period of turmoil. We will remain driven by data, grounded in compassion, and unwavering in our belief that everyone deserves a place to call home.
