New York, NY – HELP USA, the national leader in homelessness services and affordable housing development, invites all New Yorkers to register and walk at Winter Walk NYC 2025 on Sunday, December 7. The two-mile walk begins at 10:00 AM at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. All participants will receive a Winter Walk hat and backpack, and 100% of proceeds from HELP USA’s registration link will directly support HELP’s programs. Register today at haku.ly/9c924d0483
Winter Walk brings together housed and unhoused New Yorkers to walk side by side, reducing stigma and fostering solidarity. HELP USA will host a booth with information, giveaways, and opportunities to meet frontline staff and community members with lived experience of homelessness.
“For 40 years, HELP USA has demonstrated that housing with the right support changes outcomes,” said Dan Lehman, President & CEO of HELP USA. “This event is a chance for New Yorkers to walk alongside us, meet our team, and hear directly from those we serve about their journeys.”
In recognition of its 40th year, HELP USA has set a $40,000 fundraising goal and is calling on New Yorkers to help achieve it. Every registration and donation will support programs that promote housing stability, including:
- Strengthening mental health and connection – Through the Client Wellness Initiative, residents with elevated risks receive regular check-ins and enhanced activities that reduce isolation, support wellness, and help them remain housed.
- Expanding opportunities for children – HELP’s After School programs support academic progress and enrichment so young people in shelter can keep pace with their peers and build foundations for future success.
- Supporting survivors of domestic violence – The ROADS program offers counseling, legal advocacy, and trauma-informed services that help survivors regain safety and work toward rebuilding stability.
Register or donate today at go.helpusa.org/winterwalk2025 to walk with HELP USA.
