HELP USA Summer in the City Party was a Huge Success!

HELP USA’s Summer in the City party was a huge success, proving that the next generation of philanthropists and volunteers are a multi-talented and diverse group of leaders.

More than 200 young professionals from a wide range of industries such as banking, real estate, finance, the arts, public relations and many more, arrived at the DL ready and eager to celebrate 29 years of HELP USA’s success and to raise funds and awareness for the homeless and those at risk of homelessness.

“I was excited, touched and very grateful to see the passion and energy in these young people.  From our special guests, to the amazing band members and our inspiring speakers – Joshua Peters and Christopher Cuomo.  It was a memorable night that meant a lot to HELP USA and we have such hope in the future supporters of our organization,” stated Maria Cuomo Cole, Chairman of HELP USA.

Proceeds from the Aug. 4 event support HELP USA’s housing and supportive services (medical care, day care, job training, etc) to help build positive futures for homeless kids, families, victims of domestic violence and veterans.

Guests enjoyed a 2-hour open bar with music from AJ Smith & The Apollo as well as DJ Zeke.  Famed photographer Joshua Peters, owned the night by talking about how he was raised in a HELP USA facility.  HELP USA gave Joshua and his family not only a roof over their heads – it gave them something priceless – HOPE.

Christopher Cuomo, CNN anchor, concluded the speaking part of the evening by saying that all of the young people in the room have a tremendous opportunity to give back to something larger than themselves.  He encouraged all attendees to engage in the many volunteer opportunities HELP USA has to offer.
