Strengthening Communities

We are a part of the communities we serve, and are invested in addressing the underlying causes of poverty and homelessness.

HELP USA knows that housing is only the beginning. That is why we provide safe, affordable homes as well as the tools our clients need to succeed for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Help us strengthen more communities facing poverty and homelessness.

Homelessness Prevention

The best way to fight homelessness is to prevent it from happening. That’s why in addition to serving people who are experiencing homelessness, we operate homelessness prevention programs. These programs have over a 90% success rate at keeping people in their homes.

We even have special programs to help veterans and their families, because no one who has served our country should ever have to worry about finding a place to sleep at night.

Youth Programming

Finding affordable daycare or afterschool programs can be a challenge for many families, especially those with limited incomes. We provide a nurturing environment for youth to learn and grow, and give parents the peace of mind of knowing their children are safe.

Our youth enrichment programs serve residents of our shelters and residences, as well as members of the surrounding communities.

Support for Survivors of Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness in the United States, and some studies have shown that up to 50% of women experiencing homelessness are survivors of domestic violence.

HELP ROADS offers all the support that survivors of domestic need to build new lives free from fear and abuse. The program has an emergency hotline, helps survivors find new jobs and homes, and offers group and individual counseling.

Job Training

HELP USA is committed to supporting people facing homelessness on their journey to become independent. At HELP WORKS, participants can learn the skills they need to find a new job and provide for themselves and their families.

The program offers one-on-one career counseling sessions, as well as help with resume writing, searching for jobs, and preparing for interviews. Participants can even take a free class to become a certified New York State security guard or FDNY fire guard.
