April 1, 2016 – Socially Driven Lift 23 to donate 2,000 pairs of socks to the homeless in HELP USA shelter

“A pair for a pair” – that’s the motto of Lift 23 sock company. For every pair of socks a consumer buys, the company donates a pair of socks to a homeless person. In this spirit, Lift 23 will donate 2,000 pairs of its socks to the homeless in a HELP USA transitional housing shelter in the Bronx on April 1st at 3 PM/ET. HELP USA is one of the nation’s largest providers of housing and supportive services for the homeless and one of the key providers of housing in New York City. The nonprofit’s housing shelter in the Bronx is located at 785 Crotona Park North Bronx New York 10460.

a8bzkkt4w7prth4ft59hWe are so pleased that Lift 23 has chosen to give the homeless a foot up, so to speak, with this sock donation,” said Ana Sanchez, Executive Director of the HELP USA transitional housing facility. “The company’s socially driven core mission is a great example of corporate responsibility and community awareness.”

Lift 23’s “a pair for a pair” project was inspired by Tom’s Shoes “one for one.” The company’s initial mission was to lift the spirits of the 23,000 homeless children living in New York City shelters by providing each and every one of them with a pair of socks. Having since expanded that goal, Lift 23 has teamed up with the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and the Department of Homeless Services to seamlessly get its socks onto all feet that need them.

HELP USA provides a holistic approach to homelessness in the US through its temporary and permanent housing and emergency rental assistance services, counseling, substance abuse treatment, education and mentoring, and job training and employment services – all designed to help the homeless regain not just their independence but, more importantly, their place in society.
