About LINKED

LINKED is a volunteer program structured to make giving back fun for children 5-16 years of age. The program aims to bring children from all backgrounds together to establish partnerships through creative and community-based activities. All LINKED participants will develop a common understanding that their commitment, participation, and responsibility can help make a difference in the lives of others and themselves.

LINKED organizes three to four community service activities throughout the calendar year, at which all the children gather and work on projects and activities to serve a community in need. From mural painting at a domestic shelter to making packed lunches for veterans, every volunteer activity includes community service, team building, creative arts, and a snack/lunch.

All participating families are asked to donate $1,000 per year. This money is used to support the volunteer initiatives as well as to provide scholarships for approved learning and/or enrichment activities to the HELP USA families who participated in the program.

The LINKED program began in 2011, when 10-15 families came together to join forces with HELP USA-LINKED's 501(c)3 partner.

Backpack Drive

This summer LINKED is launching a new backpack drive, a back to school program to raise enough money to give over 1,000 kids backpacks and grade appropriate school supplies for their return to school next fall.

May 2012: The kids made lunch and decorated lunch boxes for 100 veterans living in transitional housing. After cooking, they wrote Thank You letters to those recently coming back from serving over seas.

March 2012: The LINKED community came together to make a mural for a domestic violence shelter and wrote letters to our veterans.

December 2011: Linked children made holiday gift bags for over 150 homeless families. The children also participated in a team building exercise and then came together to create the Linked logo.
