HELP USA Received National Recognition for Youth and Young Adult Services
- HELP USA's Mentoring USA (MUSA) announced its expanded support for several pivotal new programs, which include healthy lifestyle and self-esteem, financial literacy, the arts, and the BRAVE anti-bullying initiative (Bias-Related Anti-Violence Education), designed to improve awareness and respect for diversity in America.
- HELP's Sport for Social Change Program, Street Soccer USA (SSUSA), traveled to Paris in August to compete in the annual 64-nation Homeless World Cup. Two women from our Brownsville shelter were selected to compete in the prestigious global event.

Thousands of Homeless Families and Adults Served
- Since January of 2011, HELP USA has placed over 1400 at-risk clients into stable housing.
- In addition, our annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon, which supports surivivors of domestic violence with cash grants for further education, raised enough money for 25 scholarships.
- During the holiday season, through a partnership with PIMCO, HELP USA provided 1,000 Thanksgiving dinner baskets to homeless families and individuals in need.

HELP USA Long Time Servant Announced As CEO
- In his 18th year serving our organization, Dr. Tom Hameline was appointed President/CEO of HELP USA. During this time, Dr. Hameline was instrumental in HELP USA's national expansion and the creation of the organization's innovative employment programs which have helped thousands of homeless women and men find and keep sustainable jobs. In the role of President/ CEO, Dr. Hameline will represent HELP USA nationally and lead the development and management of permanent and transistional housing and programs for homeless and low income populations including families, single adults, veterans, victims of domestic violence and people living with HIV/AIDS.

HELP USA Leads Nation Forward in Veteran Housing and Support Services
- In addition to the newly constructed projects in Newark, Philadelphia, and the Genesis Neighborhood Plaza II, HELP USA also secured contracts to restore the historic and highly sought after Abrams Hall, a 170,000 square foot building on the Walter Reed campus.
- The VA also selected HELP USA to advance its innovative initiative that will transform unused property at the Perry Point VA Medical Center - known as "The Village" - into viable housing units for formerly homeless Veterans.
- HELP USA also received a 1 million dollar grant from the VA to HELP USA through their new Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF). The SSVF program is designed to serve noth individual veterans and veteran families who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless.

HELP USA Awarded Prestigious Walter Reed Hospital Project
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) selected HELP USA as the redeveloper for the highly sought after Abrams Hall, a 170,000 square foot building on the Walter Reed campus. The building was constructed in 1976 and currently provides ‘barracks’ housing for soldiers receiving medical treatment at the Army Medical Center. HELP is redeveloping the facility into permanent supportive housing for individual veterans and affordable housing for veteran families at-risk of homelessness. »
