HELP Suffolk is a 76-unit transitional housing facility for homeless families housing a maximum of 100 adults and 200 children at any given time.  Units are available for people with disabilities.

HELP Suffolk is the largest housing facility for the homeless on Long Island.  The complex sits on seven acres of property and consists of four residential buildings, a community building, two playgrounds and a baseball field.

Since its inception in 1990, HELP Suffolk has served over 4,000 families and places approximately 60 percent of families into permanent housing. Recognizing the need for quality affordable housing on Long Island, in 1994 HELP Suffolk opened its HELP Equity Homes Program. This program provides supportive, permanent housing in affordable, private homes to 14 families in Suffolk County and 10 families in Nassau County.

In 1995 HELP Suffolk, in partnership with HUD, established an Employment Readiness Program. Since its inception, approximately 500 individuals have secured employment in over 120 companies throughout Suffolk County.

HELP Suffolk remains the most cost-effective model for homeless housing in Suffolk County, costing approximately one third less than what it costs to house families in motels and other emergency housing facilities which offer few or no services.
