Built in 1995, Genesis RFK Apartments at Union  Square, became HELP USA's first permanent residential high-rise community for low-income families in Manhattan. Genesis RFK provides 94 units of housing, as well as programs and services to the residents and community.

Half of the apartments at Genesis RFK are occupied by formerly homeless families; the others provide affordable housing for families.

Genesis RFK also houses a Head Start program tha provides early childhood educational services to children from the neighborhood. This program is operated by the Bank Street College of Education.
